About ISO 22000(Food Safety Management System) Certification System?
ISO 22000 is the standard, which forms the harmony between Codex’s HACCP Principle and ISO’s Management System, to make it possible for all interested parties in food supply chain to apply this in order to achieve food safety. ISO 22000 is and international standard jointly developed by ISO member countries, and food specialized agencies, such as CODEX (Codex Alimentarius Commission), GFSI(Global Food Safety Initiative) and BRC (British Retail Consortium) with the lead of ISO/TC 34/WG 8(Food Safety Management System Standard Committee) with the aim of effectively controlling all hazards that could occur from all handling process of food from a farm to a dinner table at home,
Necessity of Food Safety Management System & its Certification Effect
Food industry cannot rely on their experience to meet the needs of diverse interested parties anymore, and therefore there is a need for introducing the management control system through systematic hazard analysis.
It’s necessary to apply the system to the whole food supply chain, and it is required that inter-organizational communication should be done internationally.
In addition, this system is required for prevention of food safety accidents and securing confidence from the interested party.
